Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has made 32 routes operational in the city and provides connectivity from Lahore to Sheikhupura, Raiwind, Maraka, Muridkey, Kamonkey and other adjacent areas with modernised Air-conditioned bus service. Turkish company Albayrak would impart state-of-the-art buses of international standard on route No B-21 from Lahore Railway Station to Sheikhupura from today. Modernised bus terminal would also be constructed on Railway Station Lahore.

This was stated by Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassan while inaugurating new bus service from Lahore Railway Station to Sheikhupura here on Saturday. CEO Albayrak, Binyameen-Karaca, CEO LTC Kh. Haider Latif, COO Omar Pirzada, Manager Planning and Operations, HumaDaha, SSP Railways Dr Shahzad Aslam and other officers were also present.

Chairman LTC said that the first time 32 routes have been made operational in the city to provide affordable, modernised and efficient transport facilities to the general public. Scheme of providing free transport facilities to the senior citizens and special persons is being executed successfully by LTC. Private transport companies are rendering valuable assistance and co-ordination in implementing the scheme launched for senior citizens and special persons.

He said that tension between the students and transporters has been major stumbling block in the smooth bus operation but LTC management addressed the issue effectively and introduced student green card scheme for providing concessionary transport facilities to the students in collaboration with the educational institutions.

Metro Bus System would prove to be a mile stone in providing modernised transport facilities to the people of Lahore. He said that 45 Metro Buses of International standard would be plied from Gaju Matta to Shahdara on dedicated lanes on Ferozepur Road. He said that construction of Metro Bus Project is being completed in period less than a year which is a world record.
